Become a part of a WNY non-profit committee!
Want to do some good in your community? And help put an end to Alzheimer's? Join The Longest Day Volunteer Committee at the Alzheimer’s Association WNY Chapter!
Alzheimer's Association Mission: To eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. The Alzheimer's Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support and research.
Our Vision: A world without Alzheimer's disease and all other dementia.
We are now searching for passionate committee members to help advance The Longest Day (TLD), our annual "do-it-yourself" fundraising program! Shine a light with us to fight the darkness of Alzheimer's and all other dementia.
This volunteer role includes all or some of the following: attending monthly committee meetings (currently virtual), recruiting new participants and connecting with past participants through phone calls, reaching out to your network, assisting with the marketing of events, and fundraising. Your Alzheimer's Association staff partner supports you throughout and is very flexible and happy to tailor your volunteer experience around your interests and schedule.
Ideal volunteers would have some of these traits: Enjoy connecting with people, passionate about helping others, enthusiastic, creative, comfortable talking on the phone, and have a willingness to participate in or co-host events.
The commitment: An average of 2-4 hours per month from late November 2021 to July 2022.
