Community Educators are volunteer public speakers who help the Alzheimer's Association raise awareness, provide education and expand the reach of educational offerings in the community. Community Educators deliver presentations using prepared training materials on topics related to Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. We are seeking reliable educators to serve within the eight-county region of Western New York.

Teaching experience and/or background in Alzheimer's and other dementia is not necessary. Training and support is provided!

Description

We provide programs and services to those with Alzheimer's disease or another form of dementia and their families. The Western New York Chapter serves all eight counties of WNY including Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans and Wyoming. We provide care consultations, a 24-hour helpline (1.800.272.3900), safety services, early stage programs, and education programs for caregivers, healthcare professionals and the general public. The Alzheimer's Association is also the largest nonprofit funder of Alzheimer's research. Together, we are elevating research, public policy, and awareness to unprecedented levels in pursuit of better treatments, a cure of a way to prevent Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders.
