ORGANIZATION: Alzheimer's Association Western New York

Community Representatives serve as liaisons between the Alzheimer's Association and local community groups, faith communities, etc. They raise awareness of Alzheimer's Association programs, provide basic disease information, engage in outreach activities and represent the Chapter at health and wellness events to link individuals to supportive programs offered by the Association.

Description

We provide programs and services to those with Alzheimer's disease or another form of dementia and their families. The Western New York Chapter serves all eight counties of WNY including Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans and Wyoming. We provide care consultations, a 24-hour helpline (1.800.272.3900), safety services, early stage programs, and education programs for caregivers, healthcare professionals and the general public. The Alzheimer's Association is also the largest nonprofit funder of Alzheimer's research. Together, we are elevating research, public policy, and awareness to unprecedented levels in pursuit of better treatments, a cure of a way to prevent Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders.
