On weekdays, academic volunteers work one-on-one with students on a daily enrichment curriculum which focuses on the basics of literacy and math as well as college and career preparation and daily homework assignments. On Saturdays, academic volunteers assist with nutrition, life skills and more. No prior tutoring or squash experience is required.

Weekly Schedule:

Monday/Wednesday: 4:00 - 6:00PM --- 7th and 8th Grades

Tuesday/Thursday: 4:00 - 6:00PM --- 9th-12th Grades
4:00 - 6:00PM --- 5th-8th Grades *this time slot ONLY takes place @ Drexel University*

Friday: 4:00-6:00PM --- 5th-8th Grades

Saturday: 10:00AM - 12:00PM --- 7th and 8th Grades
12:30PM - 2:30PM --- 9th-12th Grades

SquashSmarts is dedicated to improving the lives of underserved youth from Philadelphia public schools by providing intensive, long-term academic tutoring and squash instruction, while imparting high standards of personal integrity, health and fitness, and service to the community.

Description

Founded in 2001, SquashSmarts is a free intensive out-of-school time program changing the lives of Philadelphia’s public school students in grades 5-12. SquashSmarts is a 501c3 non-profit academic and athletic mentoring program with a proven track record of keeping kids in school, in shape, and on track for graduation.
