Make a senior's day with a friendly visit! We have several older adults in multiple San Francisco neighborhoods looking for a friendly visitor. Many LGBTQ older adults prefer a volunteer that is also of the LGBTQ community so that their life experiences are directly relatable to the volunteer. If this speaks to you, please reach out!
Social Call volunteers meet with older adults for weekly social visits. Volunteers provide companionship, a listening ear, and their company. In-person matches are available in San Francisco, Alameda, Marin and Sonoma counties and by-phone nationwide. Matches are based on location, availability, and shared interests.
Social Call volunteers find that making a visit to an older adult in their community is quite rewarding and many develop long-term friendships with their older adult match.
Social Call volunteers:
- Receive training and ongoing support
- Are matched with an adult 60 years or older
- Visit with their match for an hour each week for 6 months or longer
Bilingual volunteers encouraged to apply.
Volunteer training scheduled regularly.
