Guide Carlsbad and other North County 4th graders on a unique field trip at Leo Carrillo Historic Park...a truly imaginative experience as students learn about the people who lived on the Leo Carrillo property: LuiseƱo Indians, homesteaders of European descent and a Hollywood star recreating a Spanish hacienda and ranch.

As part of the California History & Art Program, volunteer docents provide a window into the past with a guided tour that reveal the experiences of the people who lived on the land which includes hands-on experiences to help the students understand ranch life. In addition, the students will create a piece of art that reinforces the lesson they have learned. The interactive art class is taught by the City of Carlsbad Library & Cultural Arts Department.

Volunteers are needed to lead students on a tour and provide information of the property following the California 4 th Grade History & Art Program material, teach students about local history in a fun, engaging manner and keep students safe following city and park safety standards.
