The National Association of African Americans in Human Resources (NAAAHR), is an inspirational and unique career development and networking powerhouse for Black and African American human resources practitioners and those who are aligned with our goals to provide: Networking, Career Opportunities, Educational and Professional Development, Mentorship and Coaching and Tools, Tips and Resources. These opportunities will enhance the careers of our members and position them to be key contributors of the strategic direction of their organizations.

NATIONAL GOALS
  • To establish a National network and forum for Black and African American HR practitioners and allies.
  • To serve as a resource to individuals interested in entering the Human Resources profession.
  • To conduct, monitor and disseminate research and analysis on major workforce issues.
  • To influence platforms of national and international organizations on human capital best practices.
  • To establish a mechanism to monitor legislation and other factors that affect Human Resources practitioners and to develop strategies that effectively represent membership interests.
  • To provide opportunities for professional development which advances and expands the knowledge of HR practitioners.
  • To provide vehicles for connectivity and best-practice sharing amongst members

POSITION SUMMARY

This role is responsible for management of the social brand for the organization through creating awareness, messaging and promoting the chapter’s "virtual value proposition". The person is responsible for maintaining social media sites, creating branding for events that alingning with Nationally approved branding and promotion of all programs and chapter events. Mentor and develop successor to ensure a smooth transition at the end of their term.

EXPERIENCE

  • Ability to display the competencies of strategic thinking, development of self and others and ability to deploy and align organizational strategies and objectives
  • Partner with National to maintain updates of Chapter website on the National platform
  • Manage and update social media sites including Facebook. LinkedIn and Twitter
  • Create and distribute quarterly newsletters, maintain programming calendar, upcoming & archived events, chapter photos, newsworthy articles, press releases, etc.
  • Connect with other NAAAHR chapters on all social media platforms to spark engagement and increase collaboration
  • Connect virtually with other public relations and media outlets to expand NAAAHR-NC potential member base and audience
