Looking to make an impact in your community? Last year our amazing volunteers brought back $30.1 million to low- and moderate-income families and individuals and connected thousands to public benefits. United Way's Free Tax Preparation Campaign is the largest Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program in the state, and one of the largest in the country.

Select from a couple of different volunteer opportunities:

  1. Census and Benefits Navigator - Assist with intake, connect folks to public assistance benefits, and provide Census support for the 2020 Census.
  2. Tax Preparer - Prepare taxes and ensure that clients receive all of the credits that they are eligible for.

The benefits? You can make a difference, interact with diverse clients, engage in networking opportunities, become IRS advanced tax certified, and/or receive a letter of recommendation!
