Are you passionate about working with youth, arts and music programming for kids, or cross-cultural education? Al-Bustan is seeking volunteers to help with our once-a-week after-school art and music programs at Juniata Park Academy. We meet at Juniata Park Academy from 3-5:30pm every Monday.
Volunteers help with:
- Tutoring students during our homework help session from 3-3:30pm.
- Assisting students with art projects and during music instruction.
- Leading or helping to lead games and activities.
- Helping lead and direct students during moments of transition (going to and from class, bathroom breaks, etc.)
This is an excellent opportunity for pre-service teachers or those interested in working in after-school programs to observe and learn from experienced teaching artists, gain experience working with students grades 3-8, and to support a program which makes art and music accessible to Philadelphia public school students.
