Each year the Mystic River Watershed Association hosts a 5k and paddle race--the Herring Run and Paddle. Over 400 participants show up to walk, run, paddle, bike and cheer. This race, in it's 24th year, showcases the beauty of the Mystic River and celebrates the annual return of the river herring.
We are seeking a social media assistant to design and schedule social media leading up to this event to both recruit participants and build hype. The assistant will also be the lead social media coordinator on the event itself, managing our Instagram stories, Facebook live and twitter feed. The assistant will work with our outreach manager to brainstorm creative content and identify/plan important posts.
This is a fantastic volunteer opportunity for someone looking to gain experience with project management, marketing, communications, and social media all while contributing to a worthy environmental cause.
