ORGANIZATION: Mystic River Watershed Association

Each year the Mystic River Watershed Association hosts a 5k and paddle race--the Herring Run and Paddle. Over 400 participants show up to walk, run, paddle, bike and cheer. This race, in it's 24th year, showcases the beauty of the Mystic River and celebrates the annual return of the river herring.

We are seeking a volunteer coordinator for this event. The coordinator will work with our outreach manager in the weeks prior to the race to become acquainted with the race details, location and volunteer roles. On the day of the event, the coordinator will be the point person for volunteers--instructing them where to go, how to carry out their job, etc. We anticipate around 50 volunteers arriving in shifts.

This is a fantastic volunteer opportunity for someone looking to gain experience with project and/or volunteer management and help a worthy environmental cause.
