ORGANIZATION: Foster Grandparents & Senior Companion Programs of Greater Siouxland

Help Prepare Children For Success in School

Do you enjoy the energy and enthusiasm of a pre-school age child? Would you like to be a part of a child's preparation for elementary school? The Rock Rapids Headstart program offers enrichment and educational activities for children, many of whom fall in the "at-risk" categories. The Rock Valley Rotary has openings at the Rock Rapids Head Start program for active, patient and loving individuals over 60.

Foster grandparents will work one-on-one with children between 3 and 5 years of age who have more than one at-risk factor. Foster Grandparents will read to the children, and assist with games and activities that enhance their pre-reading skills, vocabulary, and speech development.
