We will learn about two basic restoration techniques -- invasive plant removal and planting appropriate native plants on a creek bank in downtown Walnut Creek. Small seedlings can be put in the ground with just a few strokes of a trowel or similar tool, so the work will go fast. Others are in gallon cans and will take a little longer. The species we plant will grow long roots to help stabilize the bank and prevent erosion.
We usually work in the morning, but other times are possible especially for groups.
Wear clothes that can get dirty, shoes with good traction, and a hat. Bring water and lightweight gardening gloves if you have them.
Minimum age 12. Groups up to 10 are welcome with advance signup.
