PS 196 COMPASS is an after school program that offers children in grades k-5th daily activities to enrich and encourage. The Special Activities Coach is an individual with a deep interest, talent, or specialty in an activity or subject. Whether you love to dance, paint, or discover new ways to teach STEM; our program participants want to learn.

Position Title

Special Activities Coach

Purpose of the Position

To support the mission of PS 196 COMPASS which offers children in grades k-5th daily activities to enrich and encourage.

Duties and Responsibilities

Working with staff to create and facilitate a group activity based on your talent, field of specialty, etc.

Working Environment

Grand Street Settlement is an inclusive and diverse organization. We value teamwork and aim to ensure that staff and volunteers are respected and supported.

Time Commitment

Once a week, 1-2 hours a week. Availability can be discussed when meeting with site director and volunteer coordinator.

Length of Service Required

2 months minimum

Skills, Knowledge, and Attitudes

Prior experience working with children preferred. Background check and fingerprinting required.

Training Offered

Volunteer will be prepped by staff before start date.
