Felines For Adoption Cat Rescue aka "Saving Fancy Cats" is an all cat rescue organization seeking cat loving individuals to assist us with our cattery! This is an opportunity available to assist us with the care of our cats during their feeding/cleaning visits.

Our volunteers visit during 1 of 3 time frames 7 days a week. We ask that each volunteer choose a specific day/time frame available. Visits can be from 1-7 days per week and we ask volunteers keep the same day/visit time. We cannot allow for drop in visits since we need to have confirmed visitations to insure our cats are fed and cared for at specific time frames.

Mornings - 8-9:30 AM
Midday - 12-1:30 PM
Evenings - 5-6:30 PM

About the "Cattery Shelter Helper" As a shelter helper, you would be responsible for arriving to our cattery by the designated start time. The visit would require you to manage the required activities of; feeding, cleaning, overseeing the health and wellbeing of each cat, and occasionally grooming and/or medicating cats. All volunteers have the ability to stay longer to play and engage with the cats, which we highly encourage. Experience with cats or dogs in a shelter or rescue environment is preferred but not required. You will be trained.
This role requires physical capabilities including the ability to bend, reach, ladder use, heavy/deep cleaning, and the ability to lift up to 30 lbs (largest bag of litter/food)
This position is NOT available for corporate, school, or assigned community service activities. We do not have space for more than one volunteer per visit.

About us: FFACR is a cat rescue organization. We are a all volunteer non-profit located in northern NJ. We have a small cattery that holds our cats awaiting adoption since foster homes are difficult to find. Therefore the cattery holds most of the rescue's cats while they await adoption. This number can range between 8-12 cats who are roaming freely within the cattery. There are also cats located in individual cat enclosures who are in need of specialized attention, medication, etc.

Training: We hold orientation meetings virtually in order for potential volunteers to better understand the shelter helper role. If you are assigned a shift, there will in-person training for at least 3-4 visits, as well as the shadowing of our current volunteers. Most volunteers would then attend to their visits independently.
