During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of both COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
We are in need of responsible volunteers who are able to help us feed a few feral cat colonies located throughout Rockland County, NY including locations in Spring Valley, Nanuet and Pomona, New York. The right volunteer would have the ability to visit one or more of our feeding areas 1-7 days per week. You can choose which day(s) of the week you want to volunteer. Volunteers are able to swap their day(s) with other volunteers during vacation or illness to insure the cats are always fed.
The time of day that you would visit the colony is flexible, however, we prefer that volunteers arrive in the early morning and in the early evening hours because feral outdoor cats usually eat at dusk and at dawn.
As a colony feeder/caretaker you would also be able to assist us with the TNR process. TNR is; T= trap, N=neuter and the R= return of the cats following their alter surgery. This process helps to maintain the cat population and prevents further births of litters, leading to crowding at local shelters. Once you sign up to volunteer as a feeder/caretaker, you will be able to attend a training orientation with a current volunteer who you can work with until you are ready to visit the feeding area on your own.
A visit will usually last 30-45 minutes and requires just your time and kindness to these kitties! All cat food is provided for you.

Felines For Adoption Cat Rescue is an all volunteer all cat rescue group who's mission is to lower the number of cats euthanized every day in shelters throughout the tri-state area (NY, NJ and CT) simply due to a lack of space.
Felines For Adoption is a volunteer group working in northern New Jersey assisting in the rescue and rehoming of cats who are at risk in local animal shelters throughout the tri-state area. Our organization is looking for great people who love animals to assist us in this process! Every time a cat is adopted, we have room to save another kitty from the shelters, where they are at risk of euthanasia. If you would like to get involved with our mission, please email our volunteer director; firstname.lastname@example.org.
We'll work with your schedule.
