Do you love wine? We need your help to end Alzheimer’s! The Alzheimer's Association of Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana is looking for volunteers to help us with our newest national signature event, The Longest Day.

You are invited to join The Longest Day Volunteer Committee where you will play a vital role in team recruitment and cultivation, as well as marketing and promoting the event throughout our chapter territory. We are looking for assistance with recruiting wineries and wine aficionados to join our Longest Day efforts (June 20th).

On The Longest Day, people across the world will do what they love, or what those affected by the disease love to do. Together, we will raise funds and awareness for care and support while advancing research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s.

Learn more at www.alz.org/TLD or contact: Emalee Morley, ecmorley@alz.org for volunteer opportunities.

Mission Statement

Our Vision: A world without Alzheimer's and all other dementia.™ Our Mission: The Alzheimer's Association leads the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia -- by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.

Description

The Alzheimer's Association leads the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia - by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.
The Alzheimer’s Association was founded in 1980 by a group of family caregivers and individuals who recognized the need for an organization that would unite caregivers, provide support to those facing Alzheimer’s and advance research into the disease.
Jerome H. Stone, a true visionary in the Alzheimer’s movement, was our founding president. When his wife, Evelyn, was diagnosed with the disease in 1970, information about Alzheimer’s - even among the medical community - was limited. With drive and determination, Mr. Stone took a disease that was cloaked in silence and helped to create a global conversation.
