All American Assistance Dogs is looking for a therapist, social worker or psychologist experienced in working with veterans who have PTSD or traumatic brain injury. The volunteer is needed to answer spot questions veterans may have. The volunteer will also be a part of the initial interview process with veteran applicants for a service dog. The volunteer will help address issues the veterans may have about the role of the service dog. It is a tool not a primary means of coping with PTSD or other traumatic conditions.

This volunteer will not be the veterans’ primary counseling or therapy outlet. Applicants to our program are required to have a counselor, therapist or be part of group counseling before their application is accepted.

All American Assistance Dogs is a 501(c)(3) organization that provides service dogs to veterans with PTSD, traumatic brain injuries, or similar neurological conditions at no charge to the veteran. More information about our organization can be found at www.aaadogs.org. Note that outside of the initial interviews, most communication with veterans will be via telephone.
