We have about 50 animals including pigs, goats, alpacas, and a few varieties of birds. We could surely use your part-time help to repair and upgrade some of the facilities for our animal friends.

The Good Life Refuge
The Good Life Refuge believes that animals deserve to be seen as sentient beings. They deserve respect, love and the best treatment and care possible. Our mission is to provide refuge for abused, neglected and at-risk animals, especially farm animals.
Our goals are to provide excellence in care, species appropriate nutrition and housing, and a loving and nurturing environment with mental stimulation and enrichment. Animals that are considered non-adoptable will take residency at the sanctuary and for adoptable animals we will find excellent homes. We are also dedicated to inspire others to a more balanced and compassionate lifestyle by outreach and advocacy.
Position: Animal Enclosure Manager (multiple positions available)

Job Type: Approximately 5 hours per week, unpaid volunteer.
Description:
Animals housed on site at the GLR facility deserve the finest and safest housing in which to thrive. Projects related to the care and improvement of the GLR physical location is directly related to our success in meeting our mission. The Animal Enclosure Manager is essential to maintaining our standards. Most activities are more project-based than shift-based.
Main Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Perform maintenance, construction and repair of animal enclosures, fences and buildings.
- Minor plumbing and electrical work.
- Assist with enclosure, fencing and building design concepts for both immediate and long-term needs as the GLR expands.
Requirements:
- Understanding of and dedication to fulfilling the GLR’s mission and ethics.
- 10+ years of experience with building, maintaining and repairing buildings and enclosures.
- 10+ years of experience with plumbing and electrical (helpful, not necessary).
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
