We Honor Veterans Hospice Program-Volunteers
- A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
Our Hospice service is looking for a few good service persons to help fellow Veterans complete their "end of life" tour of duty.
We believe our Veterans deserve a special ceremony to recognize their service and we need fellow Veterans that would be empathetic to their situation.
Our Hospice program has our staff and the Veteran Volunteer (you) go the the home or facility where the Veteran currently is and present them with a patriotic-themed blanket, pin and certificate of appreciation.
Often times- this ceremony ends up being a wonderful opportunity to make a friend and listen to old stories. This opportunity is great for the Veteran and the Family.
There is a modified orientation/training required to see our patients for this ceremony. If you choose to continue visiting the Vet and would like to reach out to others- a more formal orientation/training will be offered/required.
We encourage this opportunity as it is something that touches everyone involved.
