The Development Intern will work to manage donor contributions and contact information, ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly in the Development Department. Duties will also include small event planning and donation procurement. Database, like donor-perfect, and/or Microsoft Excel experience preferred. Skills that can be gained include significant data-entry experience and obtaining inter-personal skills in a professional setting.
The Development intern will:- Help manage donor contributions
- Manage donor contact information
- Participate in event planning and management, primarily the annual Framing the Future Gala
- Assist in donation procurement
- Ensure proper marketing procedures are being achieved to meet sponsors needs/requirements
- Ensure sponsor signs can be easily viewed and are in their correct place.
The Development intern must:
- Possess valid driver’s license
- Communicate in a strong and professional manner
- Have experience in Microsoft applications
- Be comfortable processing and managing sensitive information
- Be comfortable initiating professional and profitable connections
- Possess ability to work alongside people of diverse backgrounds
- Ability and willingness to complete wide variety of tasks
- Be capable of learning quickly and as they go
- Be comfortable working in a dynamic work environment
- Have knowledge of and enthusiasm for the philosophy of Habitat for Humanity
- Must have transportation to Habitat’s main office (3726 N. Booth Street)
- Be at least 18 years old and a junior/senior in college
- Must pass a background check
We expect to be prepared to take on this intern in the spring/summer, and, for the time being, will have them for a semester.

All proceeds from ReStore sales benefit Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity's mission of building simple, decent and affordable homes in partnership with families in need. The ReStore is stocked exclusively with donated items such as new and used furniture, appliances, kitchen cabinets, building materials and other home goods.
