It's really pretty simple! Two people work at a table together. One person counts out 25 diapers, of the same size, and stacks them in a pile. The other person adds the appropriate label and wraps them with saran wrap. The diapers are then placed in bins to fulfill diaper orders for our partnering social service organizations. Our partners then distribute the needed diapers to their client's families.
This volunteer event takes place in a working warehouse. Please wear closed-toe shoes. Do not bring food in with you. Water bottles are allowed. Leave purses and personal items at home or in your car. Temperature of the warehouse is seasonal, please dress accordingly or in layers.

Our mission is to provide diapers to children in need to keep children clean, dry, and healthy. To accomplish our mission, Healthy Steps Diaper Bank partners with local non-profit organizations who then provide the diapers free of charge to active participants of their program.
Description
Healthy Steps Diaper Bank is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that collects, stores and helps distribute free diapers through partner agencies to families in need. We the only Diaper Bank in South Central PA and serve Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Perry, and York counties.
1 out of 2 families struggle to buy diapers. Although Pennsylvania offers programs such as the Women, Infant, and Children program (WIC) and food stamps (SNAP), diapers cannot be obtained through either of these programs. Without a sufficient supply of diapers, parents are forced to keep babies in diapers longer than is healthy for the child.
Healthy Steps Diaper Bank collects diapers and then through partnerships with local non-profits, those diapers are distributed to families to supplement what they are currently able to purchase. This enables families to properly diaper their children reducing the risk of diaper rash, staph infections, and urinary tract infections. The result is a healthier child, fewer doctor and ER visits, and parents that feel confident in providing a basic need for their children.
