We are looking for any volunteers within the Computer Science and other Technology related fields to bring industry relevance to round out our CS4ALL student experience.

This can look many ways but ultimately it will be about providing students with the ability to learn from professionals that have chosen CS as their calling.

Mission Statement

PS133Q seeks to create global citizen through the equity and excellence lens of Computer Science for All. At PS 133Q, we deliver rigorous, sustainable and inclusive computer science education for all our diverse learners through comprehensive exploration, creation and application of computer science concepts, practices and perspectives. Through these computer science experiences, which emphasize collaboration and challenges, our students will develop a growth mindset and persistence alongside their computational thinking.

Description

We are in our first year with the Equity and Excellence initiative of Computer Science. Computer Science for All (CS4All) will ensure all NYC public school students learn computer science, with an emphasis on female, black and Latino students. Through our work, students will be better prepared to utilize computer science during their K-12 experience and after graduation.

Through CS4All, students will learn computational thinking, problem-solving, creativity and critical thinking. They will also learn to collaborate and build relationships with peers, communicate and create with technologies, and to better understand technologies we interact with daily. These skills will be integral to student success in higher education, the 21st-century job market, and beyond.

Our school's educational vision focuses on creating a Makerspace environment that blends robotics and computer science seamlessly into project based learning opportunities to nurture problem solving citizens in an increasingly connected global society.
