38 billion plastic water bottles enter U.S. landfills each year. Not to mention the number of plastic water bottles that make it into our oceans and then eventually break-up into micro-plastics and enter Puget Sound.
Help us eliminate single-use plastic water bottles by reaching out to Seattle businesses to support to the habit of refilling water bottles.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to either enhance or learn outreach and public speaking skills.
Join us and have fun!

Mission Statement
Zero Waste Washington drives policy change for a healthy and waste-free world.
Description
At Zero Waste Washington, we work to make trash obsolete by helping to pass laws, conducting research, and doing pilot projects. For over 40 years, our nonprofit organization has collaborated with many partners to pass cutting-edge legislation to strengthen our solid waste system and reduce toxic chemicals. We advocate for policies to promote producer responsibility, improve recycling, and prevent waste at its source. These efforts make it easier for residents and businesses to decrease the extraction of resources from our planet, lessen climate change impacts, and support environmental equity. Through our innovative programs and pilot projects, we also strive to reduce waste and advance a circular economy.
