Position Function:
Prepare donations for sale and provide customer service to thrift store customers. The thrift store is a major fundraising event for MM and provides funding and marketing for lifesaving programs.

Time Commitment and Location of Work:

• One 4 hour shift per week, either 9:30-1:30 or 1:30-5:30. Store is open to the public Thursday-Saturday, however volunteers may be needed other day as well.
• Kennesaw/Acworth area

Core responsibilities:

• Assist customers unloading donations from vehicles.
• Sort and prepare donated items for sale. May involve light cleaning or repair.
• Price items (guidelines will be provided).
• Stage items in a visually pleasing manner to promote purchases.
• Greet customers and assist with finding items.
• Check out customers using cash, checks, and credit cards. (training will be provided)
• Assist customers as needed with loading purchases.
• Correct or report to Thrift store Manager any safety concerns.
• Assist with setup, cleanup and breakdown duties. (will depend on worked shift)

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Must be at least 15 years of age to volunteer for this position. Under 18 to be approved by Volunteer Manager .
• Arrive on time or early for shift and stay until shift and cleanup is complete.
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, and lift items. (Please make Thrift store Manager aware if accommodations are needed.)
• Ability to follow specific instructions from Thrift store Manager.
• Enjoys engaging with customers, volunteers, and staff.
