The Guadalupe River Park Conservancy provides community leadership for the development and active use of the Guadalupe River Park & Gardens through education, advocacy and stewardship. As part of our stewardship, we are looking for volunteers who have the availability to assist us on either a weekly, bi-weekly, or as needed basis in some tasks specific to the care and upkeep of the Heritage Rose Garden.
The Heritage Rose Garden consists of over 3,000 plants and more than 2,000 varieties of roses and is the largest publicly available rose garden in the western hemisphere! Specifically, we are seeking one or two volunteers to help us on weekdays for a couple hours with rose plant health checks, inventories, and engraving plaques for the plants. We will teach you how to do all of these tasks!
The ideal volunteer is someone who is an adult, potentially retired, who loves roses and would like to help us in maintaining this beautiful garden!
Ideal volunteers will be able to commit to on long term schedule.
If you are interested in this volunteer opportunity, or would like to know more, please contact us at volunteers@grpg.org
