As a Vigil Volunteer, you provide comfort and create a peaceful presence for the patient at bedside when the patient's death is imminent. Whether its just sitting bedside with the patient, listening to music, watching tv, or holding their hand--physically being there for them will help put the patient at ease and keep them from feeling alone during their last days!
