A wonderful opportunity for you to help the low-income families in our community by assisting our Food Pantry Manager.
Duties include:
- Greeting clients and distributing food.
- Under direct supervision of the Food Pantry Manager, food pantry volunteers will assist in unloading our van when it returns from the food bank and local grocery stores
- Organize, sort and stock all incoming food items, including loading and unloading of freezers and shelves
- Check for expiration dates and discard as needed
- Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of the pantry and waiting area
Skills Needed: Great communication skills and personable demeanor. Must be able to stand, walk, bend and lift about 25 lbs.
Days and Times Needed: Monday - Thursday 9:00 - 1:00 pm (a min of one 4-hr shift per week commitment required)

We work with clients to identify roadblocks to success, devise a plan to overcome them, and act on that plan. Oasis meets clients at their point(s) of need through its food pantry, clothing ministry, the opportunity for Biblical and mental counseling, and, through the Career Center, formulating a plan to help clients take the steps that will enable them to stabilize their economic circumstances.
Description
Oasis believes in giving families a "step up" by providing for their basic needs of food and clothes through our Food Pantry and Clothing Distribution Program, while restoring dignity and self-worth through the training offered at our Career and Women Center, including Job Placement Assistance. We empower families that are trapped in the devastating cycle of poverty to "reach new heights" spiritually, physically, economically and intellectually. Oasis meets clients at their point(s) of need, formulating a plan to help them take the steps that will enable them to stabilize their economic circumstances.
