COVID-19 Update: We are taking precautions to keep our staff, volunteers, and customers safe. Staff, volunteers, and customers are all required to wear masks and sanitize their hands upon entering the store. We are also limiting the number of volunteers and customers in the store at one time. Volunteers will be required to sign up for shifts in advance and will have a dedicated work space while in the store. A mandatory volunteer orientation and training are provided virtually.

Volunteers make up 97% of our workforce, and are critical to our ability to sort, price, clean, and merchandise the ¾ ton - 2 tons of donations we receive each month. The store receives donations Monday - Saturday that need to be processed in a timely manner, and these encompass a wide variety of creative goods. Volunteers who have experience with a specific craft are always needed to help research the value of donated items. Below is a list of art supply categories we always need volunteer expertise for:

About Art Parts Creative Reuse Center

Location:

3080 Valmont Road, Suite 120, Boulder, CO 80301, US

Mission Statement

To inspire and support creativity, community, and resource conservation through the collection and redistribution of reusable materials from industry and residents, and to provide art and educational programs and venues that encourage reuse.

Description

Art Parts Creative Reuse Center was founded in April 2011 by Denise Perreault, a textile and bead artist and long-time resident of Boulder. As an artist, Denise is fascinated about the stories inherent in found materials, and their unlimited potential for use in art, creative learning, and inventiveness. In 2010 , Denise rescued surplus materials from a Boulder business destined for the landfill. Denise used the surplus materials in an outdoor art installation surrounding the rehabilitation of the historic Hannah Barker House. She realized that other artists would love to use the
surplus and used materials many Boulder retailers, business owners, and the general public were landfilling because they didn’t fit into the typical recycling waste streams. Art Parts was founded to fill the vast waste diversion gap that exists between Ecocycle’s traditional recycling, the ReSource deconstruction yard, and the 49 thrift stores located in Boulder County.
