Atlanta Harm Reduction Coalition (AHRC) will be hosting its 2020 Southern Harm Reduction Conference at the Sheraton Hotel in Atlanta March 26-28. This is an opportunity for passionate people to discuss the impacts of diverse public health issues on marginalized communities such as communities of color, those who use drugs, sex workers, and LGBTQ. Topics are likely to center around the legal, social, and scientific progress towards the use of services such as syringe exchanges, naloxone distribution, safe injection sites, medication assisted treatment, etc.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We are currently in need of volunteers in the following positions for all three days:

Registration Assistant - Our registration assistants will be critical to ensuring an efficient check-in process for our guests. They will be trained to register attendants through our electronic system and will provide guests with their free gift bag upon arrival. (5 needed)

Floaters - Our floaters will support the conference staff and speakers by assisting with miscellaneous tasks. They will help our registration team pass out gift bags during rush times. Following that, they will monitor the various breakout rooms and ensure that the sessions run smoothly by providing assistance as needed. (3 needed)

Guest List Assistant - Our guest list assistant will assist our conference staff in ensuring that presenters are checked in in a timely manner. (1 needed)

Table Assistant - Our table assistant will help our staff manage Southern Harm Reduction Conference and Atlanta Harm Reduction Coalition related exhibits and tables. This may include passing out information and assisting with the sale of merchandise. (1 needed)

Harm Reduction Advocate - Our harm reduction advocate will help make this conference a true harm reduction experience by assisting our team in distributing naloxone and safer sex supplies. Volunteers in this position will pass out condoms, lube, and naloxone to guests and help them fill out the necessary paperwork. (2 needed)

Photographer/Videographer - We are seeking creative individuals to help us capture and share this momentous event on social media. We are primarily interested in a photographer who can work independently to capture the many interactions and activities that will be occurring. However, we are also open to having someone film the discussions.

Guide/Setup/Breakdown - Our guides will be instrumental in helping guests navigate the conference. They will be stationed near the main entrance where they act as greeters, or within the main hall where they will help answer general questions and help guests find their way around. We would also request that some guides help us with the setup and breakdown as needed. (10 needed)
