Position Description: The greeter is responsible for welcoming all visitors, requesting they follow sanitary procedures and guidelines, and keeping participants aware of events, groups, classes and volunteer/leadership opportunities. The greeter also fields Drop in Center phone calls and ensures participants sign in and out.

Duties:

  1. Greet visitors, family members, and participants in a friendly and welcoming manner.
  2. Wipe down entryway surfaces, including pens used for signing in, frequently using sanitary disinfectant wipes
  3. Encourage members to sign in and sign up for events, groups, classes and volunteer/leadership opportunities.
  4. Let people know about the day’s events and any upcoming special events.
  5. Field phone calls for the Center.
  6. Other duties as assigned.

Safety Protocols to be Adhered to:

  1. Six feet of safe social distancing shall always be maintained, with the Greeter staying behind the plexiglass whenever possible
  2. No more than 10 individuals, including staff and volunteers, will be allowed in the Drop-in Center at any given time
  3. Temperature will be taken, and wellness questionnaire administered, prior to admittance beyond the entryway.
  4. Masks shall always be worn, with the Greeter providing masks to those who do not have them upon entry
  5. Personal belonging, such as backpacks or coats, will remain in the storage area near the entrance.
  6. After depositing personal belongings, use of hand sanitizer is required
  7. Desktop and entryway surfaces shall be wiped with disinfectant frequently

We are a grassroots family and consumer self-help support, education and advocacy organization dedicated to improving the lives of people, families and communities affected by mental illness in the western suburbs of Cook County. NAMI Metro Suburban is one of 900 affiliates nationwide.
