We Are Girls Houston Conference
On Saturday, April 18, 2020 Girls Empowerment Network will be hosting our annual We Are Girls (WAG) Houston Conference at Hogg Middle School! We Are Girls is a statewide, multi-city event designed especially for girls in grades 3-8 and the adults who care about them. With dynamic break-out sessions and an empowering dance party, girls get to be totally in charge of their day. They walk away inspired by what’s possible and with a new belief in their personal power. The 2019-2020 theme is "Believe It and Be It."
There are a variety of roles at the We Are Girls Houston Conference and volunteer positions are available for people of all genders. If you’re interested in volunteering with We Are Girls Houston, please visit waghoustonvolunteers.eventbrite.com to read a full description of the volunteer roles, shift times, and expectations of We Are Girls volunteers.
Note: there is a mandatory volunteer training on Saturday, April 4th from 1:00PM-2:30PM at Hogg Middle School. This training will provide an overview of volunteer roles, expectations, the layout of the event, and provide all logistical information needed.

Mission Statement
Girls Empowerment Network's mission is to ignite the power in girls by teaching them the skills to thrive and believe in their ability to be unstoppable.
Description
Girls Empowerment Network (GIRLS) increases girls' self-efficacy by: 1. Equipping them with the skills they need to navigate the dangers and pressures of adolescence. 2. Forging healthy, supportive bonds so they know they are never alone. 3. Surrounding them with relatable role models who encourage, inspire, and guide. GIRLS has numerous programs that serve girls in Central Texas, Houston, and Dallas in grades 3-12, including after-school programming, workshops, and an annual statewide, multi-city We Are Girls Conference.
