Exceptional drivers are needed to provide non-emergency medical transportation in Central Texas-we provide the van. We are looking for volunteers who would take a day of the week to provide the rides we schedule. The driver would pick up the van at its base (in Killeen or Belton) and pick up patients at their homes to take them to their scheduled treatments (i.e., cancer, physical therapy, dialysis, etc.). Currently, there are three to four round trips per day in the region, ranging from Copperas Cove to Temple.
Drivers must complete the Passenger Assistance, Safety, and Satisfaction certification, which we pay for. Likewise, they must be familiar with Wayz or Google Maps to be able to navigate efficiently in the region.
Drivers are offered a small stipend for their work, but they can donate it back to Driving Hope or apply it to vouchers for patients in need of financial assistance.
