Hospice Companion Volunteers

Hospice Companion volunteers provide companionship to patients and/or respite for caregivers of hospice patients. You work in conjunction with and at the direction of our interdisciplinary hospice team to provide support to patients and their families. Activities may include reading to a patient, taking a patient for a walk in a wheel chair, life review, quiet bedside presence, respite to allow caregiver to attend appointments and/or run errands. These opportunities are available in both our Inpatient Unit and in patient's homes. Hours are flexible and are coordinated with the patient and their families.
