SALEM PRESERVATION SOCIETY

First Ladies of the USA has been performing for the last 20 years. Volunteers study the lives of selected first families. For each perfomance, 3-5 members gather for 'tea' and casual conversation among themselves in front of the audience. There is no script but rather free-flowing talk about their upbrininging, families, husband, and time before, during, and after office. Audiences generally select a theme to be part of the program. Popular topics are war times, Ohio presidents, holidays, gardens, personal projects, early ladies, modern ladies, and Victorians. First Ladies dress in period clothing to enhance their character portrayal. They may portray one or more women.
