Grant writing is the practice of completing an application process for a financial grant provided by an institution such as a government department, corporation, foundation, or trust. Such application processes are often referred to as either a grant proposal or a grant submission.

What you are going to do:

1. Develop an ongoing schedule for existing grant opportunities. Complete and submit applications for ongoing grants while also tracking follow-up reporting.

2. Research new grant opportunities, targeting each program’s needs with a strategy to reach fundraising goals.

3. Maintain relationships with existing grant providers.

4. Serve as a liaison with program managers and directors to understand funding needs and opportunities.

5. Monitor and communicate legislative policy that impacts or effects those we serve or the space in which we work, communicating internally and to the broader community.

6. Compiles content needed for agency’s newsletters for staff and community.

7. Work as an ambassador for the mission, advocating the spirit of greater choices and more possibilities for those we serve, both in the community and within the agency.

8. Assist with special projects, public relations and communication responsibilities as directed by the Communications Manager.



Fiscal sponsorship fee:
In general, 15% (although Size8.org, Inc. must retain control and discretion of 100% of the funds as per IRS Rev. Rul. 68-489) but varies depending on project scope, duration and involvement ofSize8.org, Inc..

Eligibility criteria:

  • Other: Project leaders must receive management & technical assistance to understand how to comply with any and all applicable laws. The fee is $3,215 for 100 hours of executive officer training (current as of September 17, 2019). Reimbursements for personal expenses incurred before approval of a fiscal sponsorship relationship are prohibited/disallowed.
