ORGANIZATION: Compassionate Artists

Music abounds during the holiday season, but we bring the joy of music all year round!!

Compassionate Artists brings the Arts to residential care facilities for financially disadvantaged seniors. We serve the places that have no budget to bring in music, art, dance or really have no activity budget at all. We go to each facility at least four times a month brings arts & crafts, dance and movement, and a monthly sing-along.

We are looking for singers with some experience in school, church or community chorus to join us. There is no rehearsal, and all songs are sung in unison (unless someone knows so pithy harmony!). You will be sent a song list ahead of time so you can listen online to any songs you're unfamiliar with. The joy on the faces of the seniors is something you will never forget.

We are also looking for accompanists (must sight read well!), piano and guitar, and any other experienced instrumentalist who is willing to give it a go.

We provide music for singers, pianist and guitar chords. You do not have to read music.

It's a lot of fun and your talents would be some appreciated.

YOU ONLY NEED TO DO ONE, TWO-HOUR SHIFT A MONTH!!

EXISTING MUSICAL GROUPS ARE WELCOME TO JOIN US OR PERFORM ON THEIR OWN. Please contact Carol Gibson.

To find out more contact Executive Director, Carol Gibson at 562 451-5031.
