Agape Hospice

Volunteer Greeters have a very important job at Upstate Community Hospice House! They are the first point of contact for many of our guests who may be experiencing hospice for the first time.
Volunteer Greeters help provide a welcoming presence by assisting guests to patient rooms and providing information. Volunteer Greeters are responsible for asking guests to sign in and out of our visitor log, straightening our lobby, watering plants and assisting families/guests during their visit to the Hospice House.
We ask that Volunteer Greeters commit to a 2-3 hour shift weekly or twice monthly.
Our Volunteer Coordinator provides all training on-site and works with the volunteer as they become more comfortable in their role. The volunteer training program must be completed before service can begin. Volunteer training covers the goals and philosophy of hospice care, how to comfort and support patients and their families, and how to handle emergency situations.
Thanks for your interest in volunteering with Agape Hospice and our Upstate Community Hospice House. Hospice volunteers have a tremendous impact on the lives of the patients that they serve, the hospice team of which they are a part, and the families and friends of the terminally ill.

Mission Statement

To provide comprehensive end of life care to individuals and their families in a compassionate, faith-based environment and dignified environment.

Agapé Hospice provides compassionate care in an embracive and faith-based manner. We are founded on providing the most service and comfort possible to residents and their families, as this is an important time in each of their lives.

The goal of hospice services is to provide the most comfortable environment for those suffering from a terminal illness. Some choose to receive home hospice services, which allow them to spend their final days surrounded by loved ones in their home. For others, hospice in facilities is the better option. Agapé Hospice provides both home hospice and inpatient hospice services.

With over 20 locations throughout South Carolina, Agapé Hospice offers treatment and support aimed at providing a better quality of life for individuals who are in the final stages of their illness. Our staff provides end-of-life care services in a faith-based and multicultural environment that creates a peaceful and comfortable space for patients and their families.

Our faith guides us through each day and we aim to provide you with that same endearing passion. Our President is a Christian minister, leading us with not only physical and emotional support, but also spiritual guidance. We always treat everyone we know with plenty and equal amounts of attention and support.
