Mission Statement

YWCA Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.

Description

For more than 75 years, YWCA NETN and SWVA has worked for the good of our community, turning on the lights and opening our doors to answer the cry for justice. Today, we stand as a powerful voice against racism and prejudice, organizing community events and promoting diversity and inclusion. Our free after school program offers STEM enrichment, mentorship, and evening meals for young, at-risk girls. We provide support to teen parents to enable them to complete their education and be the best parents they can be. We nurture and educate children while their families work to provide for them. We advocate for victims of crime, meeting them where they are and supporting them when they need it most. We know what justice looks like because every day, we get up and do the work.
