Job Description :
Strategize and oversee the committees for Doing Good. Provide Leadership to the Board of Directors. Partner closely with its Executive Director to move the committees and Doing Good forward.
Qualifications
- A commitment to nonprofits, volunteers and equipping nonprofit professionals with marketing and PR.
- Enthusiasm for Doing Good.
- Understanding of nonprofit meeting procedure, governance policies and bylaws.
- Devotion to building a strong board culture and following through on commitments.
- Values and promotes consensus, cooperation and participation among Board members.
- A natural affinity for cultivating relationships and persuading, convening, facilitating and building consensus among diverse individuals.
Responsibilities
- Lead board meetings.
- Collaborate with the executive director.
- Public representation of Doing Good.
- Collaborate with the executive director to refine and implement the strategic plan for the Doing Good and ensure clear communication.
- Lead effective interdepartmental communication by beginning with the board of directors.
- Community outreach
- Evaluate community needs
- Actively recruit new board members
- Attend public events
- Lead efforts in fundraising
- identify donors
- identify grants to fund key initiatives
- manage relationships with donors
- Partner strategically with board members
- Understand each board member’s strengths and weaknesses
- Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration and strengthen communication among staff
