ORGANIZATION: Global Green USA

Global Green is seeking a Dallas based market research support on potential funders for a project we're working on in the Coastal Bend region of Texas. We're seeking help from a volunteer with a background in market research, fundraising and/or policy to conduct an inventory of funding sources to support resilience planning in the target area. This can include state, philanthropic and/or corporate sources of funding for both planning and capital resources.

While the challenges of climate change can be daunting, the response to these challenges can also be a source of opportunity. We're seeking to work with partners in the Texas Coastal Bend to identify and evaluate strategies for increased impact that can be replicated elsewhere. Please see here more a project outline: https://www.globalgreen.org/neighborhoodassessmentprogram

We're seeking help from the volunteer to to support efforts in drainage, flood prevention, related projects. The current infrastructure fails to protect homes and businesses and many are still recovering from the impacts of Hurricane Harvey. This storm brought with it a tremendous amount of damage, which affected residential properties, commercial structures, critical facilities and public utilities. The Coastal Bend Region of Texas is particularly vulnerable to hurricanes, flooding, and high wind events.

We've prepared the project over the past 6 months. It's started with a team collaborating organizations forming and outlining initial ideas for policies and infrastructure investment strategies. Subsequently, organization's applying for technical assistance have been selected for receiving support. The volunteer's work will go into this existing workflow of collaboration and impact. Depending on timing, it may also be reviewed by a grad school class next Spring.
