Foundation Communities' Tax Help program is seeking volunteers. For more than 25 years, Foundation Communities has helped empower low-income families in the greater Austin area to build a better financial future. You can join their mission by volunteering with the Tax Help program. Each year more than 600 volunteers help Foundation Communities' Tax Help program serve more than 20,000 clients during tax season. They need you on the 2020 volunteer team!
Volunteers can serve as Volunteer Tax Preparers, Client Liaisons and Spanish/English Translators. Training is provided for each role and previous tax prep experience is not required.
Whether you're looking to build your skills and experience, make new friends, build your professional network or to simply contribute your time to the community, this opportunity provides a substantial and meaningful way to volunteer. And if you're a CPA or Enrolled Agent, you may be eligible for free continuing education credits with no pre-requisite requirements.
Express your interest by contacting us today to reserve your spot in training.

Mission Statement
engAGE Travis County provides pathways to aging well for people 50+, strengthens communities, and fosters civic engagement through volunteering, education, advocacy, and partnerships with public agencies and community organizations.
Description
One of our core programs, RSVP is part of the federal AmeriCorps Seniors program and was founded locally in 1972. Last year more than 17,100 Americans of all ages and backgrounds united to meet local needs, strengthen communities, and expand opportunity through national service in Texas. AmeriCorps members and AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers served at more than 2,400 locations across Texas, including schools, food banks, homeless shelters, health clinics, youth centers, veterans facilities, and other nonprofit and faith-based organizations.
Those who benefit from the work performed by engAGE Travis County and RSVP volunteers include the full spectrum of people from birth to old age, including homeless or isolated people with acute, chronic or terminal illnesses; frail homebound seniors; low-income families; teen mothers; disaster victims; at-risk youth; veterans; people with physical, mental or learning disabilities; and seniors in nutrition programs.
Help your community by offering your unique skills and talents. We’ll recommend ongoing and short-term volunteer opportunities based on your skills and interests, but the choice of where you volunteer and what you do is entirely yours. The benefits of being a volunteer (aged 50 and over) are numerous: travel reimbursement, on-duty accident and liability insurance, life-long learning opportunities, social engagement, recognition, and greetings throughout the year.
