Meet Clara! She's an active senior individual looking for a Community Friend for companionship and an opportunity to explore her community on weekends!
Clara loves to write letters to her family and friends, and is interested in writing about her life experiences.
The ideal Community Friend for Clara would be an adult/senior female with experience in a writing capacity - a current or former teacher, news media professional, or similar experience.
When you're not helping Clara with her writing, you can spend time going shopping or out to eat together - she enjoys dining at Yours Truly, Jack's, and Bob Evans. She also enjoys playing Bingo, doing puzzles, being outdoors in the Metroparks, and watching old TV shows like Gunsmoke, Bonanza, and Matlock.
Having a developmental disability sometimes makes it harder to meet and make friends. Community Friend volunteers help fill that void, and make shared community experiences possible.
Can you give the gift your your time? Community Friend volunteers can make a big impact in a short amount of time, and have flexible hours with minimal commitment.
