ORGANIZATION: The Mutt Scouts

Mutt Scouts is a 501c3 nonprofit dog rescue in Southern California. We rescue the most needy of dogs, and are not age or breed specific. Our primary locations are in San Diego and Pasadena. The person in this role will be working directly for our director in her home and virtually. Ideally this person will have a passion for rescue, and the position will begin with two four-hour shifts a week. Responsibilities will entail everything from answering emails, sending tax receipts, writing thank you notes, as well as higher-level duties upon completion of training which will include fundraising, recruiting new team members and donors, etc.

There is potential within this role to develop into a paid position within the next quarter, and we are looking for a dynamic, responsible, dedicated, communicative and innovative individual to help fill and build out this role. Rescue is a fast-moving, high-stress world, so this person needs to be calm and cool under pressure and be ready to jump in during emergencies.

Please visit our website, muttscouts.org as well as our Instagram, @muttscouts for more insight into what we do. Once you have a better idea of who we are, if you are interested, please follow instructions below. We can't wait to have you on our team!

If interested in this opportunity, please do not reply directly to this post. Send a resume and cover letter detailing why you would be a good fit to allie@muttscouts.org

Thank you in advance!

About The Mutt Scouts

Location:

N/A, LOS ANGELES, CA 90064, US

Mission Statement

The Mutt Scouts is dedicated to helping homeless, abused and abandoned animals. Our focus is on those animals that may need that little extra care and support. Animals that have been abused and/or neglected often need that extra care to ensure their spot into a permanent and loving home. Many of these animals have medical conditions that have been ignored their whole lives or are shy around humans due to their lack of human contact. We are committed to providing proper socialization, training and medical care for each animal. Each animal is spayed or neutered and checked by a veterinarian where the proper medical care can be given. The animal is then placed into a foster home. Within the foster home each animal has time to adjust and learns how to become a happy and healthy animal, something we believe every animal has a right to.
We know we cannot help every animal in need, that is why we believe that animal welfare needs to be a community effort. We provide outreach to the community by educating on important animal matters such as spay-neuter and through education on the care and treatment of animals. We also try to make as many people aware of the consequences of pet over-population and puppy mills.
We believe all living things should be treated with the upmost care and respect.
