Cluster Tutoring Program

Cluster Tutoring is looking for volunteer tutors to match with students who primarily come from the Austin neighborhood of Chicago. Our current need is for tutors on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Volunteer tutors meet with a student for 90 minutes one night per week. Students typically need assistance with reading and math. Support for tutors is provided by a Reading Specialist and volunteer Math Coaches. Please contact us with any interest in or questions about the program!

Mission Statement

THE MISSION OF CLUSTER TUTORING is to contribute to the lives of Chicago-area students through free one-to-one tutoring and academic enrichment opportunities enhanced by caring, mentoring relationships.

Description

For over 30 years, Cluster has provided free one-on-one tutoring to students in grades K through 12 from Chicago's economically disadvantaged Austin neighborhood and the west side of Chicago. We meet for 30 weeks throughout the school year from the end of September through mid-May. We ask that our tutors are able to participate in at least 80% of our sessions and undergo a criminal background check.
