Tree Planting Program - Project Coordinator

Project Overview

  • To plant trees in low shade canopy, low income areas of Arizona
  • To educate the public on proper tree planting and tree maintenance

Job Purpose

The purpose of the Project Coordinator position is to lead AZSA’s tree planting program. AZSA has tree plantings in the fall and spring. In order to increase the tree canopy, it is critical that we work with cities, communities, and schools to plant trees. While this position requires knowledge of right tree, right place it also requires the ability to organize and execute tree plantings working with volunteers.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify key areas for plantings
  • Develop relationships with cities, community members and relevant stakeholders
  • Design/plan and implement tree plantings
  • Manage tree planting budget
  • Be available to attend tree plantings in the fall and spring

Desired Skills

  • Forestry/Arborist - knowledge of urban forestry
  • Ability to manage volunteers
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and implement projects

Time commitment: Approximately 5-10 Hours Per Week
