During COVID we've implemented safety procedures and have included food delivery for those in quarantine.
Help local seniors living in South County with transportation to medical appointments. The Shepherd's Center of South County located at the Gerry Hyland Government Center, 8350 Richmond Highway, Suite 125, Alexandria, VA 22309, supports local seniors choosing to age in place. This vital service is rewarding to our volunteers as you meet interesting people who are so appreciative of your help. Our transportation services are free. You drive your own vehicle and pay for your own gas. Appointments are held during regular work week hours, M-F, 9 - 5 pm and typically last less than 3 hours. Your volunteering involves picking up the senior at their residence and returning them safely to their home when the appointment is finished. If this seems like something you'd enjoy doing, please contact the volunteer recruiter at 703-715-7592 or recruiter@scfbva.org
