ORGANIZATION: Endangered Species Fund

You don't have to be an artist, but an art minded person interested in building on contacts and/or developing new contacts in the art scene both in Metro Detroit and Nationally. Most specifically, painting and sculpture.

Endangered Species Fund is a Michigan based non-profit working closely with the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation in the UK. Part of our program is to bring awareness through art. We are building our organization locally for the long term and the art niche is integral to our work. We've just supported the successful "End Of Ivory" Exhibition in Christie's Auction House in Beverly Hills CA.

This is an opportunity to help build our presence from the ground floor and with the credibility of our international connections. You will need to have the maturity to talk to people of influence and to enjoy networking with like minded people.

Most of your volunteer time would be about creating relationships. So you also need to be time free enough to attend art gallery events or other networking opportunities that come along.

Mission Statement

To create awareness about and preserve endangered species and their environment.

Description

We work in close partnership with The David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation (DSWF) in the UK to support wildlife conservation projects in Africa and Asia. We also support outreach to the USA for Game Rangers international in Zambia.
Through DSWF we have a history of using Wildlife Art as a medium for bringing awareness and for fundraising.

Most of our current activity is focused on supporting the efforts of these organizations with their US outreach. But want to work more on building the Endangered Species Fund as a conservation organization in the US based on the belief that everything is connected to everything.
