Make a real difference volunteering in a groundbreaking project to benefit residents in Pathways Memory Care at Western Reserve Masonic Community. Using photographs from early life to elicit stories from the past and bringing those stories to life through puppetry to create a museum.
Volunteers are needed to serve as companions to the residents and interact with them while using photographs from their early life to elicit "stories" or "memories" from the past. After the stories are recorded on an i-pad, they will be brought to life using puppetry to create a museum.

Mission Statement
The Western Reserve Masonic Community "Music, Storytelling and Museum Project" improves the lives of elderly residents in our Memory Care facility by working to increase instances of memory retrieval and retention as triggered by stories and photos from various periods of their lives while decreasing problems related to the onset and progression of Alzheimer's and Dementia.
Description
The Western Reserve Masonic Community received funding of two grants by Ohio Arts Council: Arts Partnership, a two year program for music and storytelling and Arts Next, a one year program using Museum Houses to encourage bringing memories to life from childhood. Key to the success of both grant projects are many dedicated volunteers, who will be serving as companions to residents during their music and storytelling activities and helping with Museum House activities.
