Mission Statement

The Anoka County Community Action Program, Inc. is an innovative catalyst for empowering lower income Anoka County residents to achieve their aspirations and dreams.

Description

Anoka County Community Action Program, Inc.’s (ACCAP) mission states, "The Anoka County Community Action Program, Inc. is an innovative catalyst for empowering lower income Anoka County residents to achieve their aspirations and dreams." ACCAP is recognized as a leading nonprofit offering services that are necessary, relevant, culturally inclusive, and make measurable differences in people’s lives. ACCAP aims to be innovative and flexible allowing the agency to continually improve programs and services to meet the needs of the community and empower our residents in our community. ACCAP offers a wide variety of programming to assist individuals in Anoka County who have low incomes throughout their lifespan. Some of these services and programs include (but are not limited to) Energy Assistance, Head Start, Housing Services and Senior Programs. Within Senior Programs we provide Kinship, Outreach, Senior Information Line, Budgeting, and Chores & More services.

In 2018, ACCAP served nearly 2,500 individuals that were 55 years of age or older. As we are in the midst of this persistent population increase, one of ACCAP’s goals is to continue to meet the needs of the older adult population as well as prepare and strengthen our programs to meet the needs of our future clients. All of the ACCAP Senior Program services target adults who are 60 years and older and who currently reside in Anoka County. Individuals of all income levels are able to access our services, but emphasis is placed on those who are low income.
